From new beginnings to beautiful homes.
Twenty years ago, Mona Sharma arrived in Canada with little more than determination, hope and a dream of building a better future for her family.
Like many newcomers, the early years were not easy. Everything was new. Every opportunity had to be earned. Mona worked long days, learned the industry from the ground up and spent countless evenings studying products, customer needs and the art of creating beautiful living spaces.
Mona believed homeowners deserved something better. Not high-pressure sales tactics. Not inflated retail prices. Just quality craftsmanship, honest advice and beautiful custom window coverings, delivered directly from the manufacturer. With that belief, Bombay Shutters Ltd. was born.
In the early days, Mona did everything herself. She answered calls, measured windows, coordinated installations and handled paperwork late into the night after her children had gone to bed.
As the business grew, it became a true family effort. Her children spent weekends organizing samples, preparing quotes and delivering materials. Family dinners became business meetings, and long drives across the GTA became time to dream about what the company could become.
Every consultation starts with how you live in the room, not with a catalogue.
We recommend what suits the window, even when it is the simpler option.
Cut, assembled and checked in our GTA workshop, then fitted by our own team.
The same care Mona brought to her very first customer more than two decades ago.
“When I started Bombay Shutters, I wasn't just building a business. I was building a future for my family. Today, every home we work on reminds me why we started. We treat every customer the way we would want our own family to be treated, with honesty, respect and genuine care. I am grateful for the trust homeowners across the GTA have placed in us over the years.”

From Toronto, our family's team serves homes and businesses across the region.
First on a live video call, measuring together at your own windows, then in person with the samples in hand. No trips, no waiting rooms.
A story of perseverance, hard work and giving back to the country that offered new opportunities. And most of all, a story of helping families create homes they love coming back to every day.
